Manchester: City of confusion

Lacette: From EDL to Infidel overnight

The circus comes to Manchester this Saturday. Initially it was an EDL protest, but just days after the announcement that they were heading to Manchester, the EDL’s leader Stephen Lennon was sentenced to prison for immigration offences.

Since Lennon’s imprisonment, if at all possible, the EDL has splintered even further. People have walked away from the group in either outrage at the behaviour of Kevin Carroll, Lennon’s joint leader, or when their own Fuhrer ambitions took over.

By the time the EDL fell into Cambridge last Saturday, it was clear that there is little for Stephen Lennon to rush home for. The hilarious video of their day out has gone viral and then there is always this one too that shows the EDL doesn’t need thousands of members to have a fight with themselves. It’s no wonder that Lennon has decided to take a ‘break’ from the EDL for the time being. He may as well take his break now, dear cousin Kevin has sacked most of their previous regional organisers.

The serial pretenders of Casual United are now threatening that all three of them will make their way to Manchester to “save” the EDL. I called them ‘Casual’ due to the size of their membership.

If that’s not confusing enough for you, the North West Infidels are threatening to also turn up and “take back” the EDL. They’ve been aided somewhat by the decision of Manchester local and demo organiser, Lacette Brooks, deciding to defect to the Infidels no sooner had Lennon been released!

So, confusion reigns. The EDL are claiming it is their demonstration but the locals are now calling it a North West Alliance (NWA) demonstration, where anyone with a can of strong lager and a foul mouth is welcome.

If there are any EDL members still loyal to the EDL leadership planning on attending, they may even find themselves outnumbered.
