The far right doesn’t want you to vote in tomorrow’s local elections because they make electoral inroads when political apathy is high. Our new spoof film starring Eddie Marsan aims to shed light on this in a bid to encourage people to ‘get out and vote’.
The film depicts a tongue-in-cheek party political broadcast highlighting how the far right use anti-immigration and discriminatory rhetoric to try and instil division and encourage people to vote for far right candidates at a local level. Marsan, 53, plays a fictional far right political candidate, looking at the camera throughout the film against a backdrop of a photo of himself shaking hands with Russian leader, Vladimir Putin. In the video, Marsan’s character argues that you ‘should not vote’ and that if you “Don’t vote, we can send them all back, and their mums and dads!”.
