Vanguard Britannica (VB) is a small fascist group that primarily engages in stickering, graffiti and physical training.

Emerging in August 2022, VB’s first activity took place in Leicestershire and it has since established small branches across the country.

During 2023, VB became better organised and more ambitious, undertaking multiple banner drops over motorways in England with antisemitic and anti-immigrant messaging. VB also adopted elements from the Active Club Network, including physical exercise and martial arts training among its regular activities.

In June 2024, VB’s public output abruptly ceased and its website went down. However, in January 2025 VB held a “training summit” and promised a “resurgence of our movement and the expansion of its activities” in the new year.

VB retains close links to the Active Clubs and, notably, has established links to Patriot Front, a far larger fascist group in the US. In April 2024, VB members met with Patriot Front’s Ian Michael Elliot in London, and in September 2025, a VB “delegation” travelled to the Patriot Front’s national conference in Texas, which featured leading figures from across the American white supremacist scene.

ITV subsequently outed VB’s representative as Matthew Gravill, who had previously worked as a visitor guide at Buckingham Palace. Gravill is also a key propagandist for Active Club England.

In July last year, VB also boasted of attending a “European Youth Weekend” hosted by the German neo-Nazi group Der III. Weg.
