If there is one person in the far-right that Nick Griffin truly despises, it is his former business partner Jim Dowson.
Between 2007 and 2010, the Belfast based anti-abortionist raised millions of pounds for the BNP by fronting up the BNP’s dodgy call centre on the outskirts of the city.
When Dowson and Griffin went their separate ways, it led to court cases and allegations of kidnapping while large quantities of cash exchanged hands in car-parks.
Not only did Dowson make the BNP, he very nearly broke them too. He is the one man Griffin truly fears.
Now, as well as running his own party, it appears that the Scotsman has offered his services to The English Democrats (English Dems), which is home to a large number of former BNP members, including Griffin’s former leadership rival Eddy Butler.
When Butler left the BNP, as well as attacking Griffin endlessly, he also attacked Dowson on a regular basis.
Now however, it appears that Butler has recognised Dowson’s talents (and the fact that Dowson has access to thousands of former BNP addresses) and Dowson is on board raising cash for the party.
Griffin will not be a happy man this morning, and this just pushes the English Democrats right into the deep mire that is the ultra-right.
Further testing times ahead for Nick Griffin.
