Martin Addy: Castleford EDL
Just when we thought it had all come to an end, the EDL never fail to let us down with a display of unadulterated drunken violence.
The police initially moved the EDL away from The Swim Inn and down Victoria Street.
Violence soon broke out with the EDL attempting to attack the police lines. So far two arrests have been made.
Bottles and missiles were thrown at the police, with one of the bottles hitting one of their own protestors, Martin Addy from Castleford.
Addy received a nasty cut to the head at the hands of his own and unfortunatley for him local paramedics could not reach him because of the imposed road closures.Luckily, a local couple gave him much needed first aid as his EDL mates had abandoned him.
The police seem to have lost control somewhat with the EDL now heading down West Street towards the city centre.
Let’s not forget, this was supposed to be a show of respect by the EDL for the murdered soldier Lee Rigby, it seems the EDL just can’t help themselves when it comes to violence.
