It is starting to look like the beginning of the end for the English Democrats and I for one wont be shedding any tears.
Things started to look bad for the miniscule party after Peter Davies, the former mayor of Doncaster quit the party in February after a huge influx of former BNP members joined and attempted to take over the party.
Davies told the BBC that he had not been mayor very long before he “realised that being an English Democrat was a total irrelevance”
A further nail in the coffin occured this week after it emerged one of their few councillors Elliott Fountain will be thrown off Boston Borough Council for not attending a meeting in six months.
In fact Fountain has not showed up to a meeting since the full council assembled on January 24th triggering his removal as a councillor on July 25th. This is turn will lead to a by election on September 5th at huge expense to the taxpayer.
I have never agreed with anything Peter Davies has said in the past but on this issue he is totally correct.
The English Democrats have become irrelevant.
