What a day it has been. Our report into Britain First has created a lot of interest. Tonight Channel 4 News will air some further findings, in conjunction with HOPE not hate.
Last night Britain First caught wind of what was in the offing and issued a rather wild statement on their Facebook page about tracking us down etc, etc.
This morning, using their right to reply to media enquiries, they said the report was full of rubbish and best ignored.
This evening, they have now issued a statement threatening journalists who repeat or run stories on the back of our report.
On the back of this, we have received further threats ourselves.
Unfortunately, this is part of the job. It is not a nice part of the job, but it is a part of the job we recognise comes with the territory in researching and exposing fascists.
Realising that this is what we do at HOPE not hate, Britain First has now issued a warning to journalists who report our report into their activities. That is wholly unpleasant and unacceptable. They have had their right of reply and it seems it is to issue threats.
They will not win.
