Andy McBride: Back in the arms of Dowson?
Britain First leader Paul Golding does love to write political obituaries for his former nearest and dearest.
The one he wrote for his former mentor, funder and supplier Jim Dowson was one of the best ever. It was soon removed from the party’s website once it was confirmed that Dowson had told the Daily Mirror that Golding and co were a bunch of Godless thugs.
Writing at the time of Dowson’s departure, I wrote that it did not appear to be very long before Deputy Leader Andy McBride would quit the group. I suggested that he may even have left already.
This suggestion upset Golding greatly. Off he went on one of his usual rants, so strong this time, I was concerned he may overdose on his sulphur. It was claimed that McBride even wrote the rebuttal himself to which I replied, if that was the case, perhaps Golding should let McBride himself do one of Britain First’s notorious lectures down the camera. Nothing happened, unsurprisingly.

Well, late last night Golding announced that McBride was leaving the group, leaving Golding “sad beyond words”, but I’m guessing, not entirely surprised. Whether McBride is as sad to be gone is another matter. A Christian chap, he has long taken umbrage with the alleged cons, theft and violence in the group. Rumours of a party sex-video would most definitely have broken the proverbial camel’s back- had he not already left over a month ago.
Despite ill health, we expect to see McBride team up with his old buddy Dowson very soon.
