Far-right disasters continue

The EDL's shuffle through Nottingham today

The EDL’s shuffle through Nottingham today

We’re losing count of exactly how many far-right activists have been sent to prison for rioting in Dover and Liverpool earlier this year- but it is a lot. Another naughty, nutty, neo-nazi joined the ranks of nazi prisoners yesterday, when he was sentenced to 18 months for attacking people with a wooden pole in Dover earlier this year.

John O’Brien from Oswaldthistle in Lancashire is a well known thug from Blood & Honour circles, where he is a body guard for nazis who can neither sing or play their instruments. (I guess that is why they need the security?)

O'Brien: In Liverpool last year

O’Brien: In Liverpool last year

O’Brien was in the thick of the trouble last year in Liverpool too, when the city shut down him and his nazi mates. He went to Dover earlier this year to cause a riot and has now paid the price. And, there are still more to come. Some nazis are having a party next Friday night as they all expect to be sent down the week after.

And today, not much luck for what remains of the war-torn English Defence League (EDL).

66 of them made it to Nottingham for a national march. Brian Clough’s statue suitably turned its back on them. As would’ve the great man. Give it up now, eh lads?
