Calvin Robinson is a far-right commentator and evangelical priest who developed a following largely through his weekly show on GB News, “Calvin’s Common Sense Crusade”, which often saw him wearing his priest’s cassock on air. Robinson mixes his strict interpretation of Christian morality with an anti-immigrant and conspiratorial outlook that has become increasingly extreme over time.
In 2023, he was sacked by GB News after leaping to the defence of his friend Laurence Fox, following the latter’s abusive on-air tirade against the journalist Ava Santina. He took his show to the Lotus Eaters, where he spoke to the Christian nationalist Joel Webbon — who has called Judaism a “parasitical” faith — to criticise Jews as opponents of Christianity. Robinson has posted on X about how he recognises “Talmudic Judaism as a problem”.
Robinson was appointed lead spokesman for UKIP in August 2024, and left the UK shortly after for Michigan, where he became a priest at an Anglican Catholic church in Grand Rapids. His ministry did not last long. In January 2025, he mimicked Elon Musk’s apparent Nazi salute at an anti-abortion event. Robinson, who defended his actions as a joke, was defrocked. He continues to speak at anti-abortion events in North America and co-hosts an occasional podcast with Laurence Fox.
On his podcast, Robinson has veered in an ever more antisemitic direction. In a December episode, he said: “There are too many perverted Jews running society. We see the porn industry run by Jews. We see Hollywood run by Jews. We see the music industry run by Jews… And it’s all perverted. It’s subverting our culture. It’s an inversion of morality.”
In the same programme, Robinson further claimed that “women need to know their place”, that men “shouldn’t be gay”, and that “black people are committing most of the violent crimes and therefore something needs to be done about that”.
