Do the BNP have amnesia? It certainly appears that way.
I can clearly remember two years ago The Sun newspaper had a three day story exposing the BNP’s London regional secretary Chris Hurst and his Nazi holiday antics in Eastern Europe.
Hurst was caught on camera giving Nazi salutes whilst shouting Sieg Heil at a far right music concert in Hungary.
The concert in Veroce, 25 miles north of Hungarian capital Budapest, was packed with stalls selling Nazi memorabilia, copies of Mein Kampf and T-shirts bearing images of Hitler, his deputy Rudolf Hess, swastikas and the gates of Auschwitz concentration camp.
Hurst was at the rally with a Hungarian born BNP member Zsolt Benczik who is also a member of the Hungarian far right Jobbik party.
Chris Hurst’s grandfather disowned his grandson after reading the story in The Sun. The 91 year old WW2 veteran was horrified and wept when shown photos of Hurst saluting.
Highly embarrassed, the BNP quickly expelled Hurst from the party and little has been heard of him.
That is until now, it appears Hurst is back on the BNP scene.
Posted on the BNP website today are details of a BNP meeting that took place in Croydon last week.
Included in the report of the meeting was a photograph of some of the people in attendance, one of those pictured was Chris Hurst.
Which opens up a bit of a poser. Did the BNP lie when they said that Chris Hurst was expelled because of his Nazi antics or have the BNP lifted his expulsion?
