It appears that when the EDL aren’t being violent to human beings they like to carry out their depraved behaviour on animals as well.

Recently exposed Northampton EDL activist Paul Flowers along with his partner Barbara Morrison were jailed for 16 weeks in 2012 and banned from keeping animals after admitting cruelty to seven ponies seized by the RSPCA.

The desperate animals were so hungry that they had ground down their tooth enamel trying to get the last blades of grass available to them.

Kevin McCole, prosecuting for the RSPCA, said each horse was rated as “poor” or “very poor” in a body condition scale used by vets.

The RSPCA found two dead ponies buried and seven other ponies were seized by the RSPCA on March 2011 running up a huge bill of £18,000 as the couple refused to hand over the animals to the animal charity.

Flowers was recently revealed to be one of four admins on the Northampton EDL Facebook site
