It was a bit of a sruprise on the weekend to catch up with an old foe, former British National Party (BNP) councillor Adrian Marsden.
Marsden used to be a councillor in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and ran a gang of nasty thugs in the town when the BNP was really a party to be reckoned with.
Prior to being elected in Halifax, Marsden’s home was raided by police when they began to come down hard on the nazi hooligan gang, Combat 18.
During a spat in the party during 2008, Marsden was made Regional Organiser of the Yorkshire Region by the BNP leader at the time, Nick Griffin, as a way of driving fear into dissenters in Yorkshire.
He then went missing after losing his seat and claimed he was running off to Spain.
That explains why Marsden has been out of the limelight for a while, but there he was on Sunday in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, selling a collection of women’s clothes at a car boot sale.
I guess running off to Spain was not a good idea after all.
