No surprises for guessing who won the British National Party (BNP) leadership election. For some reason we tweeted the result around 3pm today, but the BNP did not announce it (unless we’re mistaken) until just before 6pm tonight.
We have always maintained that the current leadership of the BNP would not allow this election to be fair. They had too much riding on it for starters.
A lot of people in the party, mainly those who criticised the leadership, found themselves put on “probation” and so excluded from the ballot.
Other people excluded from voting were meant to be members with less than two years unbroken membership.
That is all except for the likes of Julie Lake, the recent BNP candidate for the Bristol seat of Kingswood.
The BNP leadership like Julie. A lot. Back in April they wrote about her “Like Adam [Walker], Julie is a natural communicator and the response to the BNP common sense message today in Kingswood has been incredible.”
Yes, Julie really is one of the Walker camp. Perhaps that is why they allowed Julie to vote for Adam Walker despite her not actually qualifying to vote by the party’s own (now hidden) rule book.
You see, thanks to former BNP employee and activist of the year Dawn Charlton, our attention has been drawn to a little conversation on social media from August of last year, where Julie Lake admits that her membership has expired and needs to be renewed.
That, is an instant disqualification, comrades. Unless, it seems, you are a wonderful communicator like Adam Walker.
I’m sure the BNP will call this an oversight. Next week perhaps we’ll uncover how many life members also voted, without even being given a choice of who to vote for.
With so much discussion about Reform UK’s success at the general election, there has been a flurry of articles written about the party and Nigel…
