HOPE not hate Trade Union Network (HNHTUN)

10 03 20

The relationship between HOPE not hate (HNH) and the trade union movement stretches back to our inception, and trade unions have a proven record of standing up against the politics of hate time and time again.

When HNH itself was founded to fight the rise of the British National Party (BNP), we knew we could count on the solidarity from our trade union comrades around the country and we are proud to have been on the frontlines in the fight against the far right, wherever it may rear its head.

Trade unionists know full well that the far right is the enemy of working people. Not only does it target workers with campaigns of hate, but the far right is specifically anti-union and anti-workers’ rights.

Whilst the organised far right is weak, sadly some of its messages are more mainstream than ever, thanks to a combination of online subcultures, mainstream “respectable” media and politicians who have provided the far right with platforms and repeated its talking points. Racism and xenophobia are on the rise across the country, whilst our Fear & HOPE reports have repeatedly shown that Islamophobia is already widespread in British society, and growing.

This is why we are overhauling our offer to our trade union affiliates, because we want to make sure that we are giving you as much as we can in order to fight this growing menace.

With our new affiliation offer, you’ll get a 10% discount off our training courses, a copy of all of our publications in a year, and invitations to national and regional HNH events.

Join today and be a part of the fightback.
