This week, the National Education Union voted at their national conference to class Reform UK as a far-right party and to campaign Reform election candidates and to support the union’s branches in local activity.
A poll conducted by HOPE not hate in January shows that over 60% of the public agreewith the statement “Reform UK is a far-right populist party”.*
Georgie Laming, Director of Campaigns at HOPE not hate said,
“Reform UK are far-right, but their voters are increasingly drawn from across the political spectrum. These people are pessimistic about Britain’s prospects, have a lack of faith in the main political parties and are willing to take a risk on something new.
Reform UK are looking to exploit this frustration, divide communities, and push their far-right agenda into the mainstream.
It’s essential that in our workplaces and in our communities, we challenge Reform UK’s divisive rhetoric”

HOPE not hate builds hope and counters the politics of hate through research, campaigning and community engagement. We focus on the organised far right, the communities who are susceptible to them and the issues and policies which give rise to them.
