Jodie Scott (AKA Missus Kent) is an anti-migrant activist and musician.

She first took to the stage as part of the Great British National Strike, performing anti-government raps to crowds at their Dover protest, and quickly became a frequent face (and sound) at anti-migrant protests across the UK. Her fame was solidified when she performed her songs in front of a 150,000 strong crowd at Tommy Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom rally in September.

Scott became heavily involved in campaigns in Faversham, Kent, where she collaborated with Harry Hilden, of the National Emergency Faversham Division, to organise and host protests. The team also partook in a widespread flagging campaign in the area, which caused particular conflict with local residents who objected to their presence in the area.

In November, Scott came under heavy criticism following a leak of a Whatsapp chat she ran named “Missuskents Patriotic Community”. The chat encouraged people to arm themselves, with a photo of a crossbow appearing in the chat and users asking where they could buy firearms. On another occasion, a member shared a clip of what was described as a “migrant centre” on fire. Another member laughs, and responds “that’s what you get for being illegal immigrants”. Other members wrote “Fuck Islam and fuck Muslims!” and argued for “mass Islam genocide”.

Scott defended the discussions surrounding arming people, telling KentOnline:

“You don’t think that we should be arming ourselves when we’ve got people being slaughtered on the streets because of our government? Having things to defend your family, legal things because crossbows are legal, what is wrong with that? I’ve got five young children, I’m not going to sit here while this invasion happens.”

She did, however, disavow the violent Islamaphobic comments, arguing that the user was an “infiltrator”.
