Another week, another woeful Reform candidate, this time tarnishing the ballot papers of Barnet.
Meet Leo Fruhman, candidate for Mill Hill ward in Barnet.

Just last week, HOPE not hate revealed that the Devon’s Reform councillor James Grainger had privately stated, amongst his wildly bigoted outbursts, that the “overwhelming majority of reform voters, members and cllrs actually prefer Restore”, referring to the more extreme party set up by Rupert Lowe MP earlier this year.
While Grainger’s sweeping statement cannot be verified, it appears to be true in the case of Leo Fruhman, who also goes by Ari Fruhman and has repeatedly endorsed Restore Britain via an anonymous Twitter account under the name “Johnny Lawrence”.
Fruhman has repeatedly urged people to vote for Lowe’s nascent far-right party, using the slogan “AIM HIGH, VOTE LOWE” and suggesting that voting for the party could “save [the] UK”

It is perhaps unsurprising that a Reform candidate like Fruhman is flirting with the more extreme Restore movement; he has, in his own words, got a “problem with Muslims”. But his demand for “every Muslim out of Europe” exceeds even the stated goals of Restore at present.

Under his pseudonym, Fruhman has certainly not held back on his antipathy for Labour politicians. calling Keir Starmer a “proper cunt” and “Muslim loving abhorrent man”, and saying “this is beyond incredible” in response to an anti-Muslim rant by US activist Valentina Gomez in which she called Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood a “dirty Pakistani”.

We should acknowledge that Fruhman’s ire is not solely targeted at Labour; he also believes that Robert Jenrick is a “massive twat”, although it appears that he still prefers him to fellow Tory-to-Reform defector Nadhim Zahawi:

Alongside his vile Islamophobia, Fruhman also appears to be disgusted at the fact that Israel hosts a Gay Pride festival, leaving the comment “disgraceful” under a post pointing it out.

When Reform UK stood terrible candidates at the 2024 General Election, Nigel Farage blamed the fact that he had only taken over the reins a month before the election.
When the same thing happened at the 2025 elections, Farage blamed – and threatened to sue – a vetting company they’d hired to weed out the worst candidates.
It’s 2026 and it’s happened again: what’s the excuse now, Nigel?
