CASE FILE: Simon Webb (History Debunked)

History Debunked, run by Simon Webb, is a YouTube channel with 257,000 subscribers that publishes videos about the perceived decline of Britain and the so-called “blackwashing” of British history.

Webb addressed the Traditional Britain Group Christmas social in 2022, and told his followers to vote for the English Constitution Party, a conspiracy theorist organisation, in the local elections that year.

Although he was best known for blogging about history, Webb has become increasingly known as an author on race science. He has written for Aporia Magazine and appeared on the podcast of Edward Dutton. In 2021, he received funding from Andrew Conru, the tech entrepreneur behind the Human Diversity Foundation (later renamed Polygenic Scores). Thanks to a grant, Webb wrote a book on race science called The Equalitarian Dogma.

His Substack, which has 5,500 subscribers, publishes a number of articles about racial differences in intelligence. In one article, Webb wrote: “White people, by and large, know that black people tend not to be as articulate and bright as they are themselves, and simply adjust their conversation and behaviour towards them accordingly.” Other recent headlines include “African-Americans and Caribbeans belong to a different species from those of white, European ancestry” and “All white people know very well that black people tend to be less intelligent than they are themselves”.

Webb’s articles also assert that black people are incapable of deferring gratification and being on time. In another post, he writes that “black people seem to prefer to operate in groups”, and make excessive noise “either by shrieking and shouting or playing loud pop music”. He has also suggested that black people belong to a different species and asserted that Muslims are “working from within to subvert” the nations of Europe.
