A former celebrity journalist at The Sun, Dan Wootton joined GB News in 2021 to host a discussion show. He was suspended and ultimately left his job after an incident on his programme in which Laurence Fox made sexually offensive comments about a female journalist.
His new online outlet is named “Dan Wootton Outspoken” and includes a YouTube channel with 292,000 subscribers, and a Substack with 38,000 subscribers. Wootton interviews figures familiar in the radical and wider far right, such as Laurence Fox, Nick Tenconi, and Calvin Robinson.
Wootton has emerged as one of the leading critics of Reform UK on the radical right, turning against the party firmly after the departure of Rupert Lowe in March 2025. This antipathy deepened in January 2026 with Wootton attacking Reform’s choice of a Muslim candidate for London Mayor and accepting the defection of former Chancellor Nadhim Zahawi.
Wooton is now constantly engaged in spats with other figures across the right, making him a key source of tensions and disagreements across the movement.
Throughout 2025, Wootton was engaged in legal action by a former colleague, who claims that Wootton used fake social media profiles to solicit sexual images from him. He denies the accusations, and the case is ongoing.
